An 8 megapixel mobile phone-camera? It might not be that fascinating in 2010, but it is today! I am not sure whether to call it a phone camera, or a camera phone.
When Samsung called me to be the spokeperson for Innov8, their top-of-the-line mobile phone, I had to think twice because I do not often endorse products. I only give my honest opinion and therefore would only endorse products that I trust and believe in.
I am glad that I did. Innov8 simply blew my mind away. I got it sent to my studio and tried it for a couple of days. Its 8 megapixel camera has (almost) everything you need from a compact, high quality camera. I tried its white balance compensation, which came out very satisfying. I loved its macro feature which really works. The shadow details are awesome. Its excellent wide dynamic range feature also does a good job
The launch went smoothly. More than 50 journalists came to JW Marriot Jakarta to attend the press conference. Hero Tjokroardi (Head of Samsung Mobile Business) and Erick Suryana (Product Manager Mobile Division) accompanied me.
I only wish that it has a full manual mode that allows us, photographers, take full control over the aperture and shutter speed. Probably in the near future.
